Privacy Policy
We’ve tried to write this plainly. If anything is unclear, email hello@closetshot.com.
1. The short version
- We collect the photos you upload, the email you sign in with, basic device and usage data, and your purchase status.
- Your photos are sent to third-party AI providers to generate your images.
- We do not use your photos to train AI models, and neither do our providers.
- We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads.
- You can delete your account and all your images from within the App.
2. What we collect
Photos and generated images. The photos you upload and the images we generate. Stored temporarily so you can access your history.
Account. You sign in with an email address (Supabase Auth). We store that email so you can get back into the same account — credits, history and purchases — after a reinstall. We don’t sell it.
Purchase information. Your subscription and purchase status, provided by Apple and our payments partner RevenueCat. We never see your card details — Apple handles all payment processing.
Usage data. Which features you use, how many images you generate, error and crash reports, app version, device model, and OS version. We use this to fix bugs and improve the app.
What we do not collect. Your phone number, precise location, contacts, health data, browsing history across other apps, or any advertising identifier. We do not track you across apps or websites.
3. Photo library and camera
ClosetShot asks for camera access when you take a photo, and photo library access when you choose an existing one. We only access the specific photos you select — never your whole library. You can decline and still use the other option; you can change these permissions in iOS Settings at any time.
Some editing — background removal, colour correction, enhance, blur, crop — happens entirely on your device. Those photos never leave your phone.

5. Who we share with
AI processing providers. To generate an image, we send your photo to a third-party AI provider. Which provider depends on the type of image. Current providers include Black Forest Labs, Google, and others we may add. They process your photo to return a generated image and are contractually required not to retain it beyond what’s needed to complete the request, and not to use it for model training.
Infrastructure providers. Cloud storage and hosting (Cloudflare, Supabase), crash reporting (Sentry), and purchase management (RevenueCat).
Apple. Handles all payments. We receive only your subscription status.
This website. Vercel Web Analytics on closetshot.com is cookie-free and aggregate.
Legal. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6. How long we keep things

You can delete individual images at any time from History, or everything at once via Settings → Account → Delete Account & All Images.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Images are stored privately and served through expiring signed links. Access is limited to personnel who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Delete your images and account, from within the App or by emailing us
- Correct inaccurate data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Port your data to another service
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the rights above, plus the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
EEA and UK residents (GDPR): our legal bases are performance of a contract (generating images you request), legitimate interests (improving the app, preventing abuse), and consent (camera and photo access). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Data may be processed in the United States and other countries; we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
To exercise any right, email hello@closetshot.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
9. Children
ClosetShot is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact hello@closetshot.com and we’ll delete it.
10. Changes
We’ll post any update here with a new effective date, and notify you in the App if the changes are material.
